txst office of sustainability

fall 2025 - spring 2026 internship

I served as the Communications Intern for the Texas State Office of Sustainability. During this time, I created graphic designs, motion graphics, videos, and branding for our department —  highlighting events across campus and helping to promote sustainability to the greater student body.

educational interpretation

I created posts and reels to educate students and faculty on the local environment in San Marcos. Using my knowledge of the aquifer, wetlands, and more, I was able to convey information and break it down into simple graphics and animations that appeal to visual learners.

promotion and outreach

I created graphics for social media posts, flyers, and digital signage to promote events hosted by the Office of Sustainability or for collaborative events with other departments.

sustainable salmander

Sustainable Salamander is a branding project that I started during my internship. We wanted to release a monthly newsletter to students interested in sustainability featuring our event calendar and articles written by myself and the other interns.

The visuals for Sustainable Salamander orginated from the bandana project I was assigned. I illustrated 3 different bandanas to give out as swag during tabling events. These bandanas feature local flora and fauna such as the Salamanders, Fountain Darter, Texas Wild Rice, flowering Cabomba, and water of the San Marcos Springs.

I designed the salamanders based off their real life counterparts, “Billy” the Texas Blind Salamander and “Marc” the San Marcos Salamander. By featuring both salamanders instead of just one I hope to bring more awareness to the endangered/threatened species endemic to our area.
